The Gift of Retreat: The Way to Set Your Inner Life Practice and Balance
In 2025 our three annual retreats are carefully aligned with the rhythms of nature to support deep introspection, renewal, and balance.
• Winter Retreat: February 21–23, 2025
Embrace the quiet stillness of winter during this deeply restorative retreat. As the world slows under a blanket of snow, this is your time to rest, reflect, and reconnect with your inner self. The Winter Retreat provides a sanctuary for cultivating inner peace, nurturing resilience, and fortifying your spirit in an atmosphere of calm and serenity. It is the perfect opportunity to pause, find clarity, and build a strong foundation for balance and renewal. (Sold Out - Please add your name for the next retreat)
Summer Retreat: June 6–8, 2025
Align with the vitality of summer as this retreat harnesses the season's energy for expansion, growth, and renewal. Summer is a time of abundance and light, offering the perfect backdrop to invigorate your body and mind. Through heart-opening practices, you’ll tap into the expansive energy of the season, cultivating joy, resilience, and clarity. Grounding techniques will help you deepen your connection to the natural world, fostering a sense of harmony and balance. This retreat is an opportunity to rejuvenate, gain fresh perspectives, and embrace the fullness of life with renewed vitality and intention.
• Fall Retreat: October 24–26, 2025
Immerse yourself in the vibrant beauty of autumn during this grounding and reflective retreat. As the leaves turn to brilliant shades of red, orange, and gold, this season invites you to slow down and reconnect with your inner self. Through restorative practices, you’ll cultivate a sense of balance and clarity, allowing you to release what no longer serves you and make space for renewal. The crisp air and breathtaking fall landscape provide the perfect setting to nurture your well-being, deepen your connection to nature, and prepare for the cycles ahead with a renewed sense of purpose and calm.
Each retreat is an invitation to step into sacred silence and calm, mastering ancient tools to restore the body and mind while preparing for the cycles ahead. Reserve your place early to ensure your journey into balance and renewal.

This retreat includes some segments of silence.
Where: We are coming together in King City, On.
Retreat Location: It’s All About You
Address: 14550 Dufferin St, King City, ON L7B 1K5. Ontario
Details: Arrive anytime after 4pm on Friday (to check in, relax and enjoy the views). Contact us if you would like to arrive earlier.
The ‘Going Into Silence’ Retreat includes Inner Peace Qigong Classes but it’s built around a larger container of ‘silence’, ‘meditation’ and guided inner life practices. Includes provate one on one Q&A time with Sunim and group discussions. It’s a great chance to take time for yourself, to be kind to yourself, to turn inward and bathe in the silence.
Because we wish to keep the retreat small and intimate (we will limit it to about 8 TO 10 people only) we will no doubt fill up quick. For this reason we will offer it on a first response basis (I will reply with more information once I get your email. Your payment is what holds your spot - see below).
Food: We believe in healthy food (and in making it DELICIOUS!) Breakfasts include yogurts, berries, Keto granola, flax, nuts, healthy hot cereal blends, eggs, nut milk, cream, organic coffee, etc. In addition, retreatants can bring their own food and / or are invited to bring a favourite dish or two as well. An added option - - Good News! We just negotiated a deep discount with Mango Tree Authentic Thai Eatery (One of the BEST ‘Authentic’ Thai Food Restaurants).
For just an added $45 + hst Per Person you can get a delicious, memorable ‘full’ Saturday lunch and Dinner, Plus Sunday lunch which we will be warmed and set out for you. They are making several amazing items including their famous Immune Boosting ‘Tom Yum SOUP’. Some say the food alone is worth attending for!
Meals are prepared and laid out by our mindful volunteers.

"Stand still.
The trees ahead and the bushes beside you
Are not lost.
Wherever you are is called Here,
And you must treat it as a powerful stranger,
Must ask permission to know it and be known.
The forest breathes. Listen. It answers,
I have made this place around you,
If you leave it you may come back again, saying Here.
No two trees are the same to Raven.
No two branches are the same to Wren.
If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you,
You are surely lost. Stand still.
The forest knows Where you are.
You must let it find you.”

Embracing the Profound Tranquility of Deep Stillness and Meditation 💎🙏 ❤️
PAST COMMENTS: We are just back from our Qigong Fall Retreat, a magnificent journey towards rediscovering the serenity within our hearts. This retreat was not merely a temporal interlude; it unfolded as a healing voyage touching various dimensions of our existence. Gratitude fills my heart for the deep sharing and the many special moments with friends and the opportunity to nurture the spirit.
🌠💫 There's a myriad of compelling reasons to make retreats an integral part of your life's rhythm. Deep stillness and silence, as experienced in our retreats, bestow invaluable benefits. The practices shared leads to a measurable reduction in cortisol levels, a reset of the nervous system, enhanced sleep quality, lower blood pressure, and heart rate regulation, as observed and shared by our cherished participants during the recent retreat. These tangible transformations contribute to overall healing.
🌟 Spending time in silence and tapping into Qigong meditation and deeper tranquility, stimulates neural development in the hippocampus region of the brain. This supports mental health and cognitive capabilities, promoting a more fulfilled existence. Mindfulness, as cultivated in these serene retreats, unveils the depths of our true-self and amplifies our empathy towards others, ultimately guiding us towards a more enriched life.
🌟 In a world inundated with noise, scientific studies have underscored the detrimental impact of ongoing external stimulation on cognitive health: I consider it a profound honor to share the retreat and training experiences with our Sangha, our spiritual community. There are just so many reasons to go into silence and Qigong with a heart centred community:
🙏 ❤️
"Amazing retreat! A few things I loved; high vibrational practice with Hae Kwang in person! meeting and talking with Aubrey, honest personal sharing, warm people, delicious food, prepared and offered with love, ethereal music, soft lighting, peace and silence, a magical winter setting, being reminded that the most momentous changes in my life have been preceeded by surrender. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

A re-energizing silent retreat this weekend and grateful that the words started flowing again. Hae Kwang Sunim in deep gratitude.
“Retreat into Silence
my encounter with silence
is a bridge to self
that reorients me.
the outer silence
drowns out
My inner chaos
Silence the voices
Allows me to retreat
Into stillness
To listen and hear my heart
My only compass to my true self.
mindless chatter evaporates
Mindful presence permeates
My being becomes my guidepost
In persuit of life’s unfolding.
